An Atlas of Minor Projects
December 2020I make a lot of smal map projects that don’t end up getting featured on my blog, my portfolio, or really anywhere else other than a quick social media post. While I’m proud of them, they’re not “big” enough to really do a lot with. So, in 2020, I decided to compile a bunch of them into a PDF atlas, to give them a more proper home.
Even though it’s a PDF, I alternated the layout of the pages as though it were being physically printed on the recto and verso. I also had fun designing a little ornament to separate the titles from the brief blurbs accompanying each item. I set the type in Adobe Caslon, as I love both its small caps and swashes.
I also did a second atlas, in 2024, following the same design. And I will likely do more someday as small projects accumulate.
