An Atlas of Great Lakes Islands
December 2019Best Atlas, WLIA 2020*
This is a handmade atlas, of which only three copies exist. Hand-printed on kōzo using the cyanotype process, then hand-trimmed (and hand-wrinkled) and hand-bound. This is the most me of any project I’ve done, I think: in its subject, in its design, and in its process.
If you’d like to hear about how this came about, there’s more to read.
*It was, admittedly, the only atlas in the competition.
