The State of Metropotamia
A Reference Map for the State that Almost WasAwarded Best in Category @ CaGIS 2017 & Most Unique @ WLIA 2017
Metropotamia does not exist. But, Thomas Jefferson wanted it to. In 1784, he headed a committee that proposed how to divide up much of the modern-day Midwest into individual states. So, I decided to have some fun and see what one of these states might look like if it had ever come into being. While it’s based on real-world data, I did re-work the state highway system, adjusted some county names and boundaries to be more sensible, and came up with a flag.
