In the Asymmetric Monstrosity Projection

There’s no such thing as a “correct” map projection, and this piece is intended to be thought-provoking by being charmingly distressing. It’s a detailed, beautiful map that shows off hundreds of landform and maritime features, in a very traditional style. Yet, it does so with a highly interrupted, odd-looking projection I call the Asymmetric Monstrosity. It’s equal area, so the continents are shown in correct proportions, unlike some other popular wall maps.
